Implementation · Start with either route · Connect later

Built for a school timetable—not a perfect pilot.

Own Mind can begin as a dedicated curriculum, as governed practice inside existing subjects, or as both. The implementation model makes the timetable, staff preparation, school controls and live-use gates explicit before students begin.

Curriculum time

A serious curriculum that fits a real timetable.

The dedicated program has a clear weekly shape. Across Subjects follows the timetable of the lesson it strengthens; schools can begin with either implementation route.

Grades 6–7 · Contributor Studio · 38–40 planned hours per school year

Weekly, 60 minutes

Five six-session project arcs plus protected retrieval and transfer sessions.

01

Find + listen

Know the situation, affected people and intended user.

02

Mine + make

Use taught knowledge to create a substantive first version.

03

Bound the machine

Give AI one exact job—or continue through the equal AI-off route.

04

Test

Put the exact version in contact with a user, source or edge case.

05

Critique + rework

Make a consequential change and preserve the reason.

06

Return + own

Hand over or close responsibly, then explain with AI off.

Choose the first organizational move

Three ways to begin without diluting the model.

Each route has its own complete implementation shape. Buying one does not commit the school to an immediate whole-school rollout.

Curriculum + Make

Give it a dedicated line.

Choose the band, protect the weekly slot, prepare the delivering staff and provision reviewed packages through school controls.

Best when the first need is explicit teaching and purposeful making.
Across Subjects

Begin with real departmental work.

Select initial departments, compile existing assignments, agree the custody boundary and moderate the first work records together.

Best when the first need is responsible AI use inside current lessons.
Connected model

Sequence teaching and transfer.

Introduce the shared method, then schedule subject transfer and human review points without replacing departmental criteria.

Best when the school wants one coherent 4–12 practice.

What implementation includes

A launch is a controlled educational change.

The product does not treat implementation as a login and a slide deck. The school needs curriculum, people, governance and access decisions to line up.

01 · Pathway

Place the work.

Choose age bands, timetable shape, initial departments, package route and the school’s own curriculum connections.

Program ownership is named.
02 · Staff

Prepare the adults.

Use session scripts, exemplars, moderation routines and teacher practice before asking staff to improvise.

Professional judgment remains human.
03 · Controls

Set the school boundary.

Configure roles, providers, AI permissions, data retention, safeguarding, access routes and shutdown conditions.

Configuration is fail-closed.
04 · Access

Make participation equal.

Provide equivalent routes across media, AI-off completion, low-spec devices and no required home connectivity or public exposure.

Access is designed into the package.
05 · Review

Inspect delivery honestly.

Review curriculum coverage, staff workload and work evidence without converting platform use into an impact claim.

Implementation evidence ≠ learning evidence.
06 · Expand

Connect only when ready.

Add bands, departments or the second route through an explicit school decision—not an automatic product expansion.

Modular purchase. Coherent growth.

Before live student use

The product can be ready while activation stays safely off.

Commercial availability does not switch on live student AI. School, safeguarding, data, provider and release conditions remain explicit gates.

School authority

Named owners and approved scope.

Roles, classes, projects, providers and permissions are configured for the purchasing school.

Nothing is inferred from a generic account.
Assurance

Current evidence, not a trust badge.

Required legal, safeguarding, privacy, accessibility and operational checks must be current for the exact live use.

Unsigned or expired gates remain closed.
Fallback

Learning continues if AI does not.

Provider-unavailable and AI-off routes carry equal completion status; shutdown does not erase the educational pathway.

The curriculum is not hostage to a model.

Ready for a department. Coherent across a school.

Start deliberately. Expand without losing the principle.

Compare the two complete routes, then choose the implementation shape that fits the first problem your school wants to solve.
